Welcome to Mr. Gentile's Teacher Page

I was born and raised in Los Angeles, have lived in Southern Germany and Humboldt County, and moved to the Bay Area to teach in 2001. I have traveled to many US states (and National Parks), Europe, the Bahamas, Thailand, Vietnam, Kenya and Mongolia, and enjoy scuba diving, salsa dancing, and backcountry camping. My love of the outdoors and nature is part of what inspires my interest and enthusiasm for science!  I am also a performing member of the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir.

The solitude of a waterfall campsite perched deep inside the Trinity Alps, miles away from any roads or running water, with a sunset view of the valley below.

College
I am a Lumberjack and attended Humboldt State University, where I received both my undergraduate degree and teaching credential.

District Tools I Use 

Attendance 
I take attendance using Aeries. You can stay on top of attendance through the Aeries Family Portal or Aeries App

Report Cards
I periodically use Aeries to generate report cards for guardians to sign and return. Families can view report cards through the Aeries Family Portal.

Gradebook
I have not started to use the Aeries Standards-based Gradebook, but will update my Teacher Page when I begin using it.  If you are subscribed to this page, you will be notified via email.
