                                 Welcome to 6th Grade!

Hi!  My name is Melissa Arata and this is my 9th year teaching.  I am an avid traveler, reader, and life long learner!   I am very passionate about teaching, and am excited to be your child's 6th grade Language Arts and Social Studies teacher; and/or ELD(English Language Development) teacher. I strive to bring knowledge, laughter, and love to our classroom each day.  Creating positive relationships and taking the time to get to know my students and their families is something that is of great importance to me.

Inspired by:

“In a world where you can be anything, be kind.” ~Jennifer Dukes Lee
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed it is the only thing that ever has."~Margaret Mead
“Learn from yesterday. Live for today. Hope for tomorrow.” –~Albert Einstein

College:  I graduated from CSU Fullerton with a B.A. in Liberal Studies.  I returned a few years later to get my teaching credential and Masters in Education.
