Lovely humans!

If you would like any coaching/help with reading or writing this summer, please email me jnagel@slzusd.org and I'll set up a time and place to offer short- to medium-sized bits of work for over the summer.

Families, if you think your student needs a little extra work to keep them from falling behind, please encourage your student to contact me.

Have a safe and healthy break!

Mr. Nagel
For the week of Monday, April 6 to Friday, April 10

Hello awesome humans!

For this week, we’ll be trying a few new things (NOTE: THIS MAY ALL CHANGE, so please keep checking the Aeries gradebook and Google Classroom for each specific class):

1. We have a Flocabulary unit on Figurative Language this week. Please see the Google Classroom pages for more specific details.
2. We’re going to try class-specific meeting times and meetings this Monday and Friday, in addition to the standing Tuesday at 9am office hour that Mr. Nagel has available. The times for class meetings are:
   • Drama at 11am-11:25am, using the ZOOM information in the Google Classroom on Monday and Friday.
   • ELA6, period 2 at 12:30pm-12:55pm, using the ZOOM information in the Google Classroom on Monday and Friday.
   • ELA6, period 3 at 1pm-1:25pm, using the ZOOM information in the Google Classroom on Monday and Friday.
   • ELA6, period 6 at 1:30pm-1:55pm, using the ZOOM information in the Google Classroom on Monday and Friday.
   • ELA6, period 7 at 2pm-2:25pm, using the ZOOM information in the Google Classroom on Monday and Friday.
3. We will not be meeting on Wednesday and Friday like we did the last two weeks, as we’ll be trying this new way of meeting.
4. If a student cannot meet at their class time listed above (this is Mr. Nagel trying something new, so there are expected to be hiccups), show up at another class’ meeting time and let Mr. Nagel know that you are at that different meeting time.

Stuff that isn’t new:

• Students -- Please join the Google Classroom for the class we have together. Information should be on Mr. Nagel’s teacher page on the Bohannon website ( bms.slzusd.org ; go to “about us,” then “staff directory,” and then click Mr. Nagel).
• Announcements will still be posted in Google Classroom and in the Aeries gradebook.

The short Monday meetings are to introduce the week’s lessons and deal with any initial questions students may have. Tuesdays at 9am-10:30 is an optional time for students to drop in as they need to for help, etc. The short Friday meetings are to have a short discussion of how the week went.

Also, Mr. Nagel is determined to finish the in-class reading of THE LIGHTNING THIEF, so please go to the survey at the link below before Saturday, April 11 to let Mr. Nagel know how you (the students) would prefer to have Mr. Nagel finish the story.

Thank you all for everything you’ve done to help create learning spaces during this extraordinary time.

-Mr. Nagel
