General Information About Me

This is my 23rd year teaching middle school in San Lorenzo. I currently teach 7th, and 8th grade PE here at Bohannon.  I also coach Boys' Volleyball and run the morning Volleyball Club with Ms. Shannon. I have also coached both Boys and Girls Basketball and Girls Volleyball. I grew up in San Leandro, and attended Bancroft Middle School and San Leandro High School. When I am not teaching, I enjoy being with my husband and children Mateo and Elias. We also have two awesome dogs Diego and Mando. We love to travel to Europe to visit my husband's family in Berlin, Germany or my family in Madrid, Spain.

Office Hours

My office hours are on Wednesdays from 1:00-1:30, however, students may arrange another time if needed. Students may drop in at any time during that 30 minutes to ask questions, get clarification about homework or grades, makeup a test, or simply check in. Once their question is answered, they may leave when they want.

College
I attended Sonoma State University from 1994-1999.  I played Volleyball and loved playing.  I attended Dominican University for my Teaching Credential and my first job as a teacher was here at Bohannon in 2001.  I have taught here ever since.

Report Cards
I use Aeries to generate report cards. Families can view report cards through the Aeries Family Portal

Gradebook
I use the Aeries Gradebook, so students and their parent/guardians can view grades through the Aeries Family Portal or Aeries app.

Absences/Medical Leave
Students who are absent need to complete makeup work for the amount of time they were absent. This work can be found in a work packet when they come to my office hours, or after class, and can be turned in via email, or hard copy when they return. Students have the same amount of time they are out to complete the makeup work. For example, if a student is absent for a week, they should turn in their makeup work within a week of returning to school. If a student is absent for an extended period of time, or is out on medical leave, they will need to turn in a doctors note. They will also need to complete a project to make up for the extended amount of time.
